Trump: US forces to stay until ‘real deal’ with Iran
The United States will keep its military forces around Iran until a ‘real deal’ is fully in place, according to Donald Trump. At the same time, the US president has openly threatened that an even stronger military response could follow if Tehran fails to meet the terms.
The situation is further complicated after Iran questioned the sense of continuing peace negotiations with the US following Israeli strikes on Lebanon. At the same time, however, it remains unclear what exactly has been agreed on the nuclear issue.
Trump claims Iran agreed to stop uranium enrichment, but parliamentary speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said continued enrichment is allowed under the ceasefire.
