German Actor Mario Adorf Dies Aged 95
German actor Mario Adorf, known for his roles in the Winnetou films and a long career in European cinema, has died at the age of 95.
According to his management, he passed away on 8 April after a short illness at his home in Paris. He was found in bed by his wife Monique.
Adorf appeared in more than 200 film and television roles and was regarded as one of the leading figures of European cinema.
Audiences remember him for performances in Winnetou, Fantaghiro and the drama The Tin Drum.
He was particularly known for bringing depth and humanity to complex characters, including villains such as mafiosi or domineering patriarchs. This ability made him widely admired by audiences. Despite his success, he often described acting as a privilege and remained known for his modesty.
