UAE Fully Reopens Airspace After Middle East War Restrictions

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Saturday that it had fully reopened its airspace after weeks of restrictions imposed during the Middle East war.

“Following a comprehensive assessment of operational and safety conditions, we have officially lifted the temporary precautionary measures that were previously in place”, the General Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement posted on X.

It added that the airspace would continue to be closely monitored. The UAE was among the Gulf states most affected by Iranian retaliatory attacks after Tehran responded to US and Israeli strikes that began on 28 February.

Air traffic in the UAE resumed with restrictions shortly after the conflict began, including evacuation flights for stranded passengers.

Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait and Syria had previously lifted similar airspace restrictions after the United States and Iran agreed to a ceasefire.
