North Korea Rejects US Claims It Poses Cyber Threat
North Korea’s foreign ministry on Sunday rejected US accusations that Pyongyang poses a cyber threat, calling them a fabrication aimed at justifying Washington’s long-standing hostile policy, state news agency KCNA reported.
A spokesperson said the United States was spreading false information about a “non-existent cyber threat” from North Korea for political purposes, describing the allegations as “nothing but absurd slander to damage our country’s image”.
The spokesperson warned that Pyongyang would take all necessary measures to defend state interests and protect the rights of its citizens in cyberspace, according to KCNA.
In March, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on six individuals and two entities linked to North Korean IT operations, alleging they helped channel illicit profits through digital assets. US authorities said the activities are ongoing.
