Trump Assassination Attempt Linked to Iran Conflict

The US Department of Homeland Security has suggested that an assassination attempt against President Donald Trump and members of his administration may have been linked to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran. A preliminary report stated that suspect Cole Allen had "multiple social and political grievances" and that the conflict "may have contributed to his decision to conduct the attack".

Allen faces multiple charges, including attempted assassination, shooting a Secret Service agent and illegal possession of a weapon. He has not yet entered a plea. Investigators are analyzing his digital footprint, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) "closely looking at" his social media activity, which included criticism of US policy toward Iran, the Trump administration and the war in Ukraine.

Released materials suggest Allen expressed strong anger toward the government and referred to some officials as "traitors." Authorities have stressed that these are preliminary findings and that no definitive motive has been confirmed.
