China Secretly Trained Russian Soldiers
Chinese military facilities secretly trained around 200 Russian soldiers late last year, according to European intelligence documents obtained by Reuters.
The training reportedly took place at bases in Beijing and Nanjing and focused on drones, electronic warfare, army aviation and armored infantry tactics.
Reuters reported that senior Russian and Chinese officers signed the training agreement in July 2025. The documents also outlined plans for Chinese soldiers to receive training in Russia, marking a new stage in military cooperation between the two countries.
China’s Foreign Ministry said Beijing maintains an “objective and impartial” position on the war in Ukraine and supports peace negotiations. Neither Moscow nor Beijing commented on the reported training program.
According to the documents, some of the Russian soldiers later took part in operations in Crimea and the Zaporizhzhya region.
