Trump Skips Son's Wedding to Remain at White House

US President Donald Trump will not attend the wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., to Bettina Anderson. Trump announced the decision on Truth Social, citing government duties as the reason for his absence.

"While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so", he wrote.

The wedding is to take place over the weekend on a small island in the Bahamas, according to CNN. As recently as Thursday, Trump had told reporters he might attend, but said the timing was difficult. "I have a thing called Iran and other things", he declared.

The US administration is currently engaged in diplomatic negotiations brokered by Pakistan aimed at ending the conflict with Iran.

Trump had originally been scheduled to travel to his golf club in New Jersey following an event in New York state, but will instead return to the White House, according to a revised schedule.
