Ukraine Can Detect Russian Mass Attacks Days in Advance
Ukrainian and US intelligence can in some cases detect Russian preparations for large-scale attacks on Ukraine days in advance, Le Monde has reported. This is possible because of the extensive logistics that coordinated missile and drone strikes require.
The operations involve strategic bombers, both the Black Sea and Caspian fleets, missile units and hundreds of drone operators. The Ukrainian air force says that aircraft movements, missile armaments or ship activity often betray an impending attack before it begins.
Ukrainian experts say Ukraine had six days' warning before the large-scale Russian wave of attacks on 14 May. Russia has also significantly increased its production of drones and missiles in the meantime, with factories producing around 130 attack drones a day alongside a similar number of decoys designed to overwhelm air defenses.
