Estonia Rejects Russian Claims Over Baltic Russians
Estonia has rejected Russian accusations of alleged discrimination against Russian-speaking minorities in the Baltic states, calling them part of a broader disinformation campaign.
According to the Suspilne news portal, Tallinn was responding to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry claiming that Moscow intends to bring alleged violations of the rights of Russian speakers in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania before the International Court of Justice.
In a public statement, Estonia’s Foreign Ministry said Russia was attempting to divert attention from its own actions, particularly continued attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine.
Tallinn also warned that Moscow routinely uses such narratives as tools of propaganda, political pressure and information warfare against EU and NATO member states.
