Zelensky Sounds Alarm on Russian Offensive Ahead of Austria Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is preparing another large-scale attack against Ukraine. The warning came days after massive strikes on Kyiv and other parts of the country, in which Moscow was also reported to have deployed a new medium-range ballistic missile, the Oreshnik.

Zelensky said Russia's actions demonstrate the Kremlin's continued efforts to pursue a military solution to the conflict. He renewed his call on Western allies to speed up the delivery of air defense systems, in particular ballistic missile interceptors.

He also raised security issues during talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, and the two leaders discussed Ukraine's European integration. Kyiv expects to open the first accession cluster as early as June.

Austria supports the continuation of the accession process but has stressed that accession to the European Union must remain conditional on fulfilling all established criteria.
