Khamenei Calls for Unity in Face of External Pressure

Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has called on Iranians to remain united and resilient in the face of external pressure.

In a message, he said Iran’s adversaries had shifted their focus to weakening society from within after suffering setbacks on the battlefield.

He said they were trying to spread pessimism, frustration and internal division in order to undermine the country’s stability.

Khamenei warned that any steps that lower public confidence or weaken national cohesion ultimately serve Iran’s enemies.

His statement was made during commemorations marking the anniversary of the death of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, and on the occasion of a major Shiite holiday.
