US Forces Intercept Iranian Missiles and Strike Radar Sites
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces intercepted several Iranian ballistic missiles and attack drones heading towards the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
According to the military, Iran fired seven ballistic missiles at targets in Kuwait and Bahrain just hours after US forces shot down four drones posing an imminent threat to shipping in the region.
The US subsequently launched retaliatory strikes against Iranian coastal radar stations in the Goruk area and on Qeshm Island. Washington said the operation was aimed at preventing further attacks on shipping.
CENTCOM's preliminary assessment indicates that six of the seven missiles fired were successfully intercepted and the seventh missed its intended target.
