One Killed in Shooting near Israeli West Bank Border

A shooting in central Israel near the occupied West Bank killed one person and wounded five others on Sunday. Israeli authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected terror attack.

Emergency services said a 35-year-old man died of gunshot wounds. Two of the five injured are in serious condition.

Israeli police said they had "neutralized" the suspected shooter but did not immediately disclose his identity or provide further details.

The attack took place across three locations near the Palestinian city of Qalqilya in the West Bank. The Palestinian Hamas movement welcomed the shooting but did not claim responsibility.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said he had conducted a security assessment of the incident.
