Ten Migrants Dead After Boat Capsizes off Malta

Italian rescuers recovered ten bodies after a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Malta, the coastguard said on Sunday.

The vessel had set sail from Libya with about 60 people on board and capsized about 45 nautical miles southeast of Malta. "According to the latest information, a fishing boat in the area rescued around 48 people alive, out of about 60 reported to have set off", the coastguard said.

Search operations are continuing under Maltese coordination.
