Israeli Strikes Kill Nine in Gaza amid Ceasefire Talks

Israeli strikes on a Hamas-run police station and a vehicle in the Gaza Strip killed at least nine people and wounded 20 others, medical officials said, as mediators launched fresh efforts to salvage a fragile US-brokered ceasefire deal.

One strike hit a police checkpoint adjacent to a large tent camp of displaced families in Khan Younis in the southern enclave, killing five people and wounding 16 others, health officials said. The Israeli army said it had hit a Hamas command center.

A subsequent airstrike killed four people and wounded four others when it struck a vehicle in the center of Gaza City, medics said. The Israeli military did not immediately comment.
