Trump Threatens Stronger Strikes on Iran, Eyes Kharg Island

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would like to take control of Iran's Kharg oil hub, but expressed uncertainty about whether the American public would support a major escalation.

"My preference has always been – take Kharg Island ... my preference would be that. I don't know that America has the stomach for it", he told Fox News.

Trump also announced that the US would intensify its strikes on Iran that same night. "It will be bigger - bigger, more powerful", he added.

Despite the planned escalation, Trump confirmed that Washington is still negotiating with Iran in pursuit of a deal.
