Kallas Urges Diplomatic Solution After Talks with Tehran

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the latest developments in the conflict in the Persian Gulf region and the state of negotiations between Iran and the US.

She also spoke with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, describing renewed attacks on Gulf countries and their critical infrastructure as unacceptable.

Kallas warned that a return to large-scale military conflict would have serious consequences for the entire region, and stressed that diplomacy remains the most appropriate path to resolving the current crisis.

She posted her remarks on X on Thursday following phone calls with the Iranian and Kuwaiti officials.
