US-Iran Deal Close, Pakistan and Iran's Foreign Minister Say
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the United States and Iran have reached the final shape of a pending peace agreement. In a post on X, he wrote that Pakistan has been heavily involved in mediating the negotiations and is currently working with both sides to determine the way forward.
Sharif also accused unspecified groups of spreading misinformation to thwart the agreement, saying that peace between Washington and Tehran is closer than ever.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made similar remarks, saying the so-called Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was close to being finalized. He urged the media not to speculate on the contents of the document until it is officially finalized. The details of the agreement have not been made public.
