Ukraine Strikes Russian Fuel Depots and Chemical Plant
Ukraine continued its strategy of deep strikes into Russian territory overnight, with President Volodymyr Zelensky announcing hits on an oil facility in the Yaroslavl region and the Azot chemical plant in the Tula region.
According to Kyiv, the Azot plant is one of the key facilities supporting the production of explosives for the Russian military. Simultaneous attacks were also carried out on logistics routes used by Russian troops in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Yaroslavl region governor Mikhail Yevrayev confirmed the large-scale drone attack, saying some drones had penetrated air defenses and hit fuel depots, triggering a large fire.
Zelensky described the operations as part of "long-range sanctions" against Russia and a response to Moscow's refusal to end the war.
