Trump Says Iran Eager to Finalize Nuclear Agreement
US President Donald Trump said a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran includes a clear commitment by Tehran not to acquire a nuclear weapon.
Speaking during the G7 summit, Trump said he would publish the text of the document during a formal address. He also backed the idea of submitting the agreement to Congress for review, although he noted that he had not previously considered the option.
The memorandum currently serves as a framework for further negotiations. Both sides are expected to finalize the detailed terms of the agreement in the coming weeks.
Trump expressed optimism about the next stage of talks, saying Iran is keen to conclude an agreement as quickly as possible.
According to the US president, Tehran wants to restore trade and economic activity after a prolonged period of tensions. The negotiations are now entering a new phase, with a 60-day deadline set for reaching further progress.
