Kremlin Denies Discussion of Putin-Zelensky Meeting
The Kremlin says a potential face-to-face meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not discussed during a recent phone call between Putin and US President Donald Trump.
According to Putin adviser Yuri Ushakov, Moscow has not received any official proposal for such a meeting.
The comments came after Zelenskyy publicly stated that he was prepared to meet Putin either at the G7 summit in France or in the United States.
The Ukrainian president has presented direct talks with Putin as one possible avenue for advancing efforts to end the war, which has now lasted more than five years.
Trump has recently held separate telephone conversations with both leaders as diplomatic efforts to bring the conflict to an end continue.
