Trump Doubles Down on Meloni Photo Claim

US President Donald Trump has once again attacked Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

"Meloni asked, over and over, for a picture with me during the G-7 meeting in France", Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

The US president also said that, in his view, the Italian prime minister is losing support at home. "She is doing poorly in Italy with her level of popularity, possibly because she turned down the United States of America, a Country that truly loves and protects Italy", Trump added.

His remarks follow a dispute that erupted between the two leaders after the G7 summit. Meloni had previously rejected Trump's claims, calling them false.
