Katz: Israel Will Not Curb Lebanon Strikes
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the military will continue its operations against security threats within Lebanese territory without any additional restrictions.
According to Katz, Israeli forces remain deployed in the security zone and have a mandate to intervene whenever they deem it necessary. The remarks came shortly after a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect, intended to end months of mounting tensions and armed clashes.
However, the situation is complicated by reports from Lebanon indicating that Saturday's Israeli attacks claimed at least 20 lives.
Israel says it needs to protect its security and eliminate potential threats, while critics warn that the ongoing attacks could jeopardize the fragile ceasefire.
