Trump Earned $1.4bn from Crypto in 2025
US President Donald Trump earned more than $1.4bn last year from his family's cryptocurrency projects, according to his 2025 financial disclosure form published by the Office of Government Ethics.
Digital assets now account for most of his income. Since taking office, Trump has supported several measures favorable to the cryptocurrency sector, including stablecoin regulation and the easing of regulatory oversight.
Trump reported nearly $800m from the World Liberty Financial project, which he founded with his sons. Of that amount, he earned more than $520m from the sale of cryptocurrency tokens and over $250m from the sale of shares in the company. He earned a further $635m from the sale of his own meme coins.
Reuters estimates that since Trump returned to the White House in 2025, his family has earned at least $2.3bn from cryptocurrency projects.
The White House denies any conflict of interest. Spokesperson Anna Kelly said that neither the president nor his family has ever acted contrary to the public interest, and that all of the administration's decisions serve the American people.
However, some ethics experts argue that Trump has undermined long-standing presidential standards on the separation of public office from private business.
