US Supreme Court Delivers Trump Both Victories and Defeats

The US Supreme Court's rulings during the past term have brought President Donald Trump several significant victories, along with some notable defeats. Legal experts agree that he was particularly successful in cases where his goals aligned with the long-term direction set by Chief Justice John Roberts.

One of the most significant rulings, written by Roberts, significantly strengthened the president's authority to remove the heads of independent regulatory agencies. Conservative lawyers describe it as one of the greatest shifts in favor of presidential power in the court's history.

At the same time, Roberts has also authored decisions that prevented Trump from implementing parts of his agenda. The Supreme Court rejected his sweeping tariffs, his attempt to remove a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and his effort to restrict birthright citizenship.

The court also continued on a broader conservative trajectory, weakening part of the Voting Rights Act and striking down limits on campaign finance. According to experts, however, these decisions reflect Roberts' long-standing priorities rather than automatic support for President Trump.
