Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Refineries and Military Targets

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have again attacked the Slavneft-JANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia and struck several other strategic targets, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The general staff said explosions and a fire were observed at the refinery after the attack. The Novatek-Ust-Luga facility near the village of Slobodka and the permanent base of the 26th Missile Brigade near the town of Luga in the Leningrad region were also targeted.

Ukrainian forces also struck the TES-Terminal-1 facility in Kerch, in Russian-occupied Crimea. It is one of the peninsula’s largest sites for the storage and transshipment of light petroleum products. Another target was a railway overpass near Dovzhansk in the Luhansk region, which Russian forces use to transport troops, weapons, ammunition and logistical supplies.

The SBU reported a separate operation in Crimea. According to the agency, three aircraft hangars at the Hvardijske airbase were struck, along with a Pantsir-S2 air defense system near Simferopol, a mobile fire group in Kerch, a petroleum storage tank and a pumping station at the TES-Terminal-1 depot.

The Yaroslavl refinery is one of Russia’s largest and produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other products considered important for the country’s military logistics.
