Israeli Strike Kills Four in Southern Lebanon
Four people, including a school principal, were killed on Monday after an Israeli strike hit a vehicle in southern Lebanon. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, it was one of the deadliest attacks in recent weeks, putting last month's ceasefire under renewed strain.
The Israeli military said it targeted a vehicle approaching its security zone, claiming the occupants posed a threat. However, the victims were identified as a school principal, her mother, a domestic worker and a foreign laborer who were returning after inspecting a war-damaged home in Nabatieh.
Israel maintains a 10 km security zone along the border, which Lebanon considers a violation of its sovereignty. The incident has deeply shaken local residents, who had hoped to return to normal life following the ceasefire declared in late June.
