Ukrainian Prime Minister Submits Resignation

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has formally submitted her resignation to parliament. Parliamentary Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced the move on social media platform X on Monday, saying lawmakers would consider the resignation in accordance with the procedure set out by law.

According to preliminary reports, the parliamentary process to form a new government could begin as early as Tuesday.

The resignation follows President Volodymyr Zelensky's announcement on Sunday of a sweeping cabinet reshuffle, which he said he had discussed in detail with Svyrydenko. According to Zelensky, both agreed that the current political situation requires a comprehensive overhaul of the government.

The president thanked Svyrydenko for her service and said he had offered her a new role overseeing a strategically important area of relations with one of Ukraine's key international partners.

Zelensky said the government reshuffle is intended to ensure the effective implementation of the country's updated political strategy.
