Tate Brothers Detained in US, UK Seeks Extradition

Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested on Saturday by US federal authorities in Miami. British prosecutors announced that they will seek the brothers' extradition based on new charges of rape, bodily harm and human trafficking, having identified additional alleged victims.

Four plaintiffs, who have been granted anonymity, allege that Andrew Tate subjected them to physical or sexual violence between 2013 and 2015. He denies the allegations. In a written defense, his lawyers stated that the allegations are false and that all sexual activities were consensual.

The Tate brothers, who have built a large online community through which they promote their views on masculinity and wealth, will face charges in the UK related to alleged crimes committed between July 2010 and August 2017. Both brothers hold dual British and US citizenship.

According to Reuters, this move by US authorities marks a new chapter in their mounting legal troubles, as they are already facing criminal prosecution in Romania, where authorities have been investigating them since December 2022.
