German Chancellor Hints at Possible Government Reshuffle
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Sunday that he might now have an opportunity to make changes to his government. The statement came after the resignation of one of the country's leading politicians over the weekend.
Jens Spahn, a high-ranking member of the ruling CDU, resigned on Saturday after having a child born via surrogacy in the United States, a practice that contradicts his own party's stance opposing surrogacy.
"This could be an opportunity to reconsider the composition of the federal government", Merz said in an interview with ZDF television when asked about possible changes in the government.
