Kuwait Condemns Iran over Desalination Plant Attack

On Sunday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Iranian attack on a power generation and desalination facility, describing it as a direct strike against vital civilian infrastructure.

Repeated attacks on civilian facilities represent a dangerous escalation of tensions and violate international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, the ministry said in its statement.

It stated that Iran bears full legal and moral responsibility for the attack and its consequences.

Jordan, for its part, summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires in Amman in connection with the Iranian attacks. The Foreign Ministry described them as "unjustified and blatant". Over the past week, Jordan has repeatedly reported that it intercepted Iranian missiles flying over its territory, including three that, according to the Jordanian military, were shot down on Sunday.

On Sunday morning, the US concluded its eighth consecutive night of strikes against Iran, after previously reporting that two members of the US armed forces had been killed in Jordan as a result of Iranian strikes and another was missing. Iran retaliated with strikes of its own, targeting US bases in neighboring countries.
