US Strikes Iran for 10th Consecutive Night

The US military said late on Monday that it had completed its latest round of strikes on Iran, targeting military command centers, missile and drone launch sites, naval capabilities and air defense systems.

According to US Central Command, the operation lasted about five hours and marked the 10th consecutive night of US strikes. Washington said it was seeking to “degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz”.

Iran has long backed Hamas and Hezbollah and armed, trained and funded Yemen’s Houthis. The war began on 28 February with US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and Gulf states hosting US military bases.

US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed thousands and displaced millions. The war has also driven up oil prices and shaken global markets.

US troop deaths rose to 17 over the weekend. On Monday, President Donald Trump vowed revenge against Iran after the deadly weekend for American forces. Over the past week, he has threatened to expand the target list to include energy plants and bridges.
