US Strikes Iran for Twelfth Consecutive Night

The US military completed its latest round of strikes on Iran on Wednesday at the direction of President Donald Trump, marking the twelfth consecutive night of American attacks.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the targets included Iranian naval assets, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites and air defense systems.

Since the beginning of July, US forces have struck dozens of military targets on land while resuming a naval blockade of Iran, according to CENTCOM. The latest operation lasted five hours.

The war began on February 28, when the United States and Israel attacked Iran. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and Gulf states hosting US bases.

US and Israeli strikes on Iran, along with Israeli operations in Lebanon, have since killed thousands of people and displaced millions. The number of US troops killed has risen to 18 in recent days.

Trump also vowed on Wednesday to destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant every time Iran fires on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. He had previously threatened to target Iranian energy facilities and bridges.

Iran’s joint military command warned that if Trump carried out the threat, its forces would attack oil, gas, electricity and economic facilities across the region, according to state media.
