Kremlin: Trump Sincere on Peace, but US Still Arms Ukraine

The Kremlin claims that US President Donald Trump is sincerely striving to end the war in Ukraine and is prepared to wait for new proposals from Washington.

However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also emphasized that Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, will continue its military operations until it achieves its goals and "total victory".

According to Peskov, Moscow accepted a previous US proposal to resolve the conflict, but Ukraine rejected it under the influence of its European allies, the Kremlin said. Peskov said the United States was taking a contradictory stance, speaking of peace while continuing to supply weapons to Kyiv.

Nevertheless, Russia considers the Trump administration's efforts to mediate negotiations to be in line with its own interests.

The most recent trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US took place in February, and Moscow expects them to resume once the situation in the Middle East has calmed down.
