Kallas Condemns Russian Attacks, Plans New Sanctions

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas condemned Russia's latest attacks on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine, saying civilian casualties were the result of deliberate targeting rather than chance.

Writing on X, Kallas also highlighted the strike on Latvia's honorary consulate in Sloviansk, saying it demonstrated Russia's complete disregard for international law.

She reaffirmed the EU's full support for Latvia and announced that the bloc would summon Russia's ambassador to the EU. Kallas said she would propose expanding the sanctions list to include additional entities linked to Russia's military-industrial complex.
