Ukraine Strikes Lukoil Oil Platform in Caspian Sea

On Saturday, Ukrainian drones struck the Filanovsky oil platform, owned by the Russian company Lukoil, in the Caspian Sea. Two cargo ships, the Port Olya 2 and the Begey, which are suspected of transporting military cargo between Russia and Iran, were also targeted in the attack.

The Ukrainian Security Service reported this on Telegram.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on X that these were the results of long-range strikes. "We also achieved very strong results with long‑range strikes in the Caspian Sea – including vessels used in military cargo shipments involving Iran, as well as a warship", he said.

Zelensky also announced that Ukrainian forces struck an oil refinery in Tyumen and a plant in Kirov that manufactures components for artillery shells. In addition, they struck a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, though he did not specify further details.
