Eleven Killed in Ukrainian Attack on Tourist Campground

Eleven people, including four children, were killed and another 16 were injured in a nighttime attack on a resort in the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region. This was reported by local occupation authorities, who blamed Ukraine for the attack.

According to the Russian-appointed governor, Yevgeny Balitsky, the target of the attack was a resort in Kyrylivka on the coast of the Sea of Azov, near Melitopol. He claims that the attackers deliberately targeted civilians. "The enemy saw and understood who it was targeting", he stated on Telegram.

Ukraine did not immediately comment on the allegations.

Both Russia and Ukraine have repeatedly denied that they are deliberately targeting civilian sites in the war that Moscow unleashed with its invasion in February 2022.

According to the state-run RIA news agency, Russia's investigative committee has launched a criminal investigation into the incident on suspicion of terrorism.
