Russia Extends Gasoline Export Ban Through End of 2026

Some regions of Russia continue to face fuel supply problems, with the most serious situation persisting in parts of Siberia. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who noted that while conditions are gradually stabilizing, they remain "quite difficult" in some areas.

Moscow has adopted several measures to support the domestic market following repeated Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries, which caused gasoline shortages and rising prices.

Novak announced that the ban on gasoline exports will be extended until the end of the year. Conversely, the government plans to lift the ban on diesel exports, as it believes the market situation is improving.

If circumstances require it, Russia may import surplus petroleum products from Kazakhstan. In July, Kazakhstan exported its first shipment of gasoline to Russia, totaling approximately 1,000 metric tons, which was destined for a region in central Russia.
