Zelensky: Russia to Deploy 30,000 North Korean Troops

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims that Russia plans to deploy an additional 30,000 North Korean soldiers to the war against Ukraine.

In his regular evening address, he stated that Moscow has been preparing to receive them in the Voronezh region since June.

He did not provide evidence to support his claims, and Russia did not immediately comment on his remarks.

North Korea had already deployed approximately 14,000 soldiers to the Kursk region in western Russia in 2024 under a mutual defense agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang.

The deployment followed a large-scale Ukrainian offensive on Russian territory. Cooperation between the two countries has deepened significantly since the conclusion of the defense pact, raising concerns among Western nations about the further militarization of the conflict.
