Berlin Pride Evacuated After Driver Hit Crowd with Vehicle

Berlin's Christopher Street Day (CSD) Pride celebrations were abruptly halted on Saturday evening after a vehicle drove into a crowd near Tiergarten, injuring several people, according to police and event organizers.

The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. near Lennéstraße. Police said several people were injured but did not immediately provide an exact number or details about the severity of their injuries.

A large emergency response was deployed and the area was cordoned off.

German media reported that witnesses saw a white van drive at high speed into pedestrians before the driver fled on foot. Reuters was unable to independently verify those reports.

Following the incident, organizers canceled the Pride event and instructed participants to leave the area calmly. Messages displayed at the Brandenburg Gate and on the event's social media channels urged attendees to avoid the Victory Column and Tiergarten and to exit toward Berlin Central Station.

Police said officers were searching for the driver. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
