Russian Attacks Kill Two, Hit Multiple Cities
Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight on Sunday and continued their attacks on other parts of Ukraine during the day. According to Ukrainian authorities, at least two people were killed and others were injured.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia fired seven ballistic missiles at the country overnight and deployed 136 drones. In Kyiv, a fire broke out in a multi-story residential building following a missile strike, and three people were injured.
In Kharkiv, one person was killed and 12 others required medical treatment during a daytime drone attack. In Zaporizhzhia, a guided aerial bomb attack claimed one life and left six people injured.
Russia, meanwhile, announced that four civilians were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on the occupied city of Horlivka in the Donetsk region. Moscow's claim could not be independently verified.
Both sides deny intentionally targeting civilians. However, since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, thousands of civilians have been killed in the war, most of them on Ukrainian territory.
