Police Arrest Suspect After Knife Attack in Paris

A man armed with two kitchen knives attacked three women near Porte de Clichy in Paris on Monday before being arrested by French police.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the victims were aged 19, 24 and 36. Two of the women suffered serious injuries.

An off-duty police officer subdued the attacker before he was taken into custody. Nunez praised the officer's intervention as courageous and thanked him for his actions.

The motive for the attack remains unknown. Police have also been unable to confirm the suspect's identity, as he was speaking incoherently when he was arrested, according to Nunez.
