Ukraine Presses Iran to Stop Supporting Russia's War

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart after Tehran condemned a Ukrainian drone strike on one of its ships. During the conversation, Sybiha urged Iran to avoid further escalation and end its support for Russia's war against Ukraine.

“I emphasized the need to refrain from any escalatory steps, as well as to end any support for Russia's war against Ukraine. This war is illegal and must end”, Sybiha wrote on social media platform X.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also said on X that he had spoken with Sybiha by phone. According to Saar, the two discussed the security challenges facing both countries, including what he described as the threat posed by Iran.
