Burnham Vows Pragmatic North Sea Oil Approach

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed that during a phone call with US President Donald Trump, he pledged a pragmatic approach to the use of oil and gas resources in the North Sea.

He was responding to Trump's recent remarks, in which Trump said he wants the new British government to open up the region's deposits.

Burnham said significant energy resources remain in the North Sea, which, in his view, cannot be ignored at a time when many people are facing economic difficulties.

He emphasized, however, that his government would take a pragmatic approach in making further decisions.
