Italy Halts Schengen Travel with Spain

Italy announced on Friday that it was suspending the border-free Schengen regime with Spain in response to a surge of migrants entering the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighboring Morocco.

Although Italy does not share a land border with Spain, the measure will affect air and sea travel between the two countries.

Italy's interior ministry also announced an agreement with France to tighten controls along the French-Italian land border.
