Trump Rejects More Patriot Missiles for Ukraine

US President Donald Trump rejected a request from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for hundreds of additional Patriot air defense missiles during their meeting last week, the Financial Times reported.

According to the newspaper, Trump said US stockpiles of interceptor missiles are limited and that Washington needs them to protect its own military facilities and allies in the Middle East amid the conflict with Iran.

The report comes amid media claims that US stockpiles of Patriot and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles have fallen sharply. However, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth dismissed those reports as false.

According to the reports, the US military used approximately 80% of its THAAD missiles and about 65% of its Patriot missiles during the campaign against Iran.
