Israel Rejects Trump's Gaza Peace Plan

Israel has rejected the 15-point peace plan for the Gaza Strip presented by US President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that the Israeli military will not withdraw from the territory until Hamas completely surrenders its weapons.

Last month, Trump announced a breakthrough in negotiations to end the war and presented a plan intended to build on the ceasefire agreed upon last year between Israel and Hamas. According to the US president, Hamas had agreed to disarm.

Netanyahu, however, emphasized that Israel would not accept a solution that did not include the complete disarmament of the militant group, calling this an essential condition for ending the conflict and withdrawing Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel continued its attacks on targets in Gaza. The war began following Hamas's attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, in which hundreds of people were killed and others were taken hostage. Since then, the conflict has claimed tens of thousands of lives and caused a widespread humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
