Kyiv Hits Fighter Jet Base Deep in Russia

The Ukrainian military has launched further attacks on strategic targets deeper inside Russian territory. On Saturday, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a strike on an oil facility in the port of Ust-Luga, saying the facility had sustained damage.

However, he did not identify the specific facility. On Friday, Ukraine had already attacked a Russian gas condensate processing plant in the same Baltic port.

According to Zelensky, Kyiv also struck a Russian rocket and space center in Samara. Another target was the Savasleyka military airfield, which serves as a base for Russian fighter jets. The series of attacks thus struck Russia's energy, military and technological infrastructure.

Zelensky released information about the operations via Telegram. He has not yet provided further details on the extent of damage to individual sites or on any casualties.
