Russian Drones Strike Kyiv and Other Ukrainian Cities

Russia launched waves of drones at Kyiv and the surrounding region for the second consecutive day, killing at least one person and damaging 14 warehouses, three apartment buildings and 16 single-family homes.

According to Ukrainian officials, the successive waves of attacks are intended to wear down air defenses, create uncertainty and disrupt residents’ daily lives.

The strikes also again targeted consumer logistics and retail infrastructure. They destroyed sorting centers belonging to courier company Nova Poshta near Kyiv and in Sumy, a warehouse belonging to a major bookstore and an Epicenter store in Zaporizhzhia, where four people were injured. A shopping center in Kharkiv was also hit.

The attacks have caused widespread delays to rail services across the country and repeated air-raid alerts. According to Ukrainian authorities, the deliberate pressure on supply chains and online retailers is an attempt to disrupt the functioning of the country’s economy.
