Storm in Cyprus Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
One person died and six others were rescued after a storm and rough seas caused three boats to crash into rocks and sink off the coast of Cyprus on Saturday, local media reported.
A rescue helicopter pulled an unconscious man from the sea near Cape Greco, on the island's southeastern coast, and he was later pronounced dead. Two of the survivors were treated at a hospital, the Sigmalive news agency reported.
Heavy rain and wind swept across the Mediterranean island on Saturday, flooding streets, causing landslides and uprooting trees.
